The wait is almost over, LSU Football held their first day of fall practice on Wednesday ahead of the 2025 season.
The team started in the indoor practice facility, then spent a short amount of time outside on the practice fields.
Fifth year senior Garrett Nussmeier, junior transfer Micheal Van Buren and red-shirt freshman Collin Hurley all had reps at quarterback.
The offensive line had several players rotating positions. For the majority of practice, freshman Weston Davis, senior transfer Josh Thompson, junior transfer Braelin Moore, sophomore DJ Chester and sophomore Tyree Adams were the first team O-line.
DJ Chester was the starting center for the Fighting Tigers, but he was switched to left tackle a few times during practice.
During one drill, Nussmeier threw a great ball to senior transfer Barion Brown. LSU’s depth in the wide receiver room is expected to be the best it has been during the Brian Kelly era . The team has eight receivers fighting for starting positions.
Junior linebackers Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins Jr. were able to practice without limitation, after recovering from injuries last season.
LSU will continue having practice until their season opener against Clemson at Memorial Stadium on August 30th.
