Football season returns in less than a month, but SEC football is coming back sooner than you think.
Netflix’s new docuseries “SEC Football: Any Given Saturday” releases on Aug. 5 and gives fans an eight-episode, behind‑the‑scenes look at some of 2024’s most iconic games.
“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a Netflix release.
The show features 10 out of 16 SEC programs. LSU is one and the others are Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
The eight episodes range in content, from one-on-one conversations with the SEC’s top coaches to side-by-side experiences with athletes on their off-days. The series also takes a deeper look into some of last season’s most notable storylines, including LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier’s tough decision to make about returning for a fifth year or entering the NFL Draft, as seen in the trailer.
The trailer includes multiple LSU cameos, with the cover featuring quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. Within the video, linebacker Whit Weeks is seen in clips hunting as well as doing sit-down interviews.
There is also a sit-down interview and several clips of head coach Brian Kelly within the trailer.
“Viewers will ride along on the team buses, sit in on locker-room speeches, drop in on barbershop banter, and witness the grind it takes to be a D1 athlete in the nation’s most competitive football culture,” Netflix publishing manager Amanda Richards wrote.
Though it’s unclear exactly which games of LSU’s season will be featured in the documentary, Netflix crews were present at the Tigers’ games against South Carolina and Ole Miss.
