After Saturday night’s performance versus the Florida Gators, LSU Football Head Coach Brian Kelly spoke to the media about his team’s offense and their preparations for this Saturday’s game against Southeastern Louisiana.
“We’ve got to be better. In terms of technique, this is a big week for us. You know, in terms of developing the technique and the experience, we have to be consistent with running the football,” Kelly stated.
For the Tigers, this week means bringing more urgency to practice and refining their short-yardage plays. Kelly emphasized that attention to detail is now crucial. Once Southeastern Louisiana is behind them, they’ll be charging headfirst into SEC competition.
One key piece of their offense is quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who Kelly revealed has been “slowed a bit with a torso injury” he suffered in camp due to overworking. Despite the setback, Nussmeier will continue to fight through it and will remain on the field.
Kelly also pointed to the progress his team has made since last season. After losing to Florida last year, Saturday’s win was a moment of growth that showed the Tigers are moving in the right direction.
As the focus shifts to Saturday night, LSU will be ready to clean up their execution, continue their 1-0 mindset, and head into Death Valley with confidence to face off against the Lions.
