LSU’s campus was buzzing this weekend as the Tigers took over for family weekend. Parents returned to campus to see how their students are adjusting to college life, and to make sure their students aren’t having too much fun away from home.
Outside the student union, families shared honest answers about life with their students away at college.
When asked who cried more on move-in day, nearly every parent admitted it was them, not the student. Some revealed the most surprising texts they’ve gotten since school started, ranging from party confessions to no messages at all.
Parents described their homes as quiet, empty and even, “peaceful in a sad way”, showing how much they feel the absence of their student. Meanwhile, students admitted their families are most likely to embarrass them this weekend.
“My mom will be at the football game yelling, she’s very vocal when it comes to the football games,” One freshman said.
Whether it was parents soaking up time with their tigers or students showing off campus pride, the weekend was a win for everyone.
