LSU Women’s Basketball is back, and they held their first open practice on Tuesday before their season gets rolling.

Kim Mulkey enters her fourth season as the head coach for the Fighting Tigers. During her time the team has appeared in three elite eight appearances and won the National Championship in 2023.

At practice, the Tigers started off with some basic warm ups before getting into some different drills. They ran full court layups and other similar drills.

Of course, senior guard Flau’Jae Johnson and junior guard Mikaylah Williams were present at practice. Both players were essential assets to the team last year and will be expected to maintain that status.

Fans also got a look at some of the new faces on the roster. Freshman Grace Knox joins the team after being ranked a No. 6 recruit by ESPN.

2025 ACC First-Team All American and 2025 ACC Player of the Week (Dec. 26) Amiya Joyner is looking to get a taste of some SEC play in her senior season. She comes to LSU after three seasons at East Carolina, where she averaged 12.8 points and 9.6 rebounds a game.

The Tiger faithful will not get to see the new team in action until their exhibition against Mississippi College on Thursday, October 23.
