LSU Women’s Basketball Head Coach Kim Mulkey addressed the media following the first of two exhibition games for the Lady Tigers.
The Tigers were able to secure a dominant, 148-46 victory over Mississippi College.
“I got to figure out who to play and who to play with,” Mulkey said after the win, as she emphasized the importance of building chemistry amongst a roster made up of predominantly newcomers.
With over half of the roster made up of newcomers, it has become a challenge to figure out who fits where and with who.
Mulkey also praised the outstanding performance from Sophomore guard Jada Richard. Who Coach Mulkey says had a change in mindset that has boosted her performance on the court.
“But it didn’t just start tonight. This started this summer,” Mulkey said “She and I would have a conversation and she would just say, ‘All I want to do is get on that floor coach’,”
With one exhibition game remaining in the two game series, Mulkey and the Lady Tigers are looking to carry this early momentum into the start of the 2025-2026 regular season.
