This afternoon, LSU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matt McMahon spoke to the media after their win against the University of Central Florida.
“I thought getting to go on the road for our players was really important, getting into the routine on how we prepare on the road, team meetings, all those small details that are really important. But as for the game, from an individual standpoint was a phenomenal performance,” McMahon stated.
McMahon seemed to be very excited about his new team, and especially his returner, Jalen Reed, coming back from his ACL injury.
“His recovery and rehab journey has been really inspiring to me. I mean, this guy, from the day he came out of surgery, has been all in on getting better. He is not only physically, but his mindset has really grown in that regard. He sets the example and is the leader for our team and locker room,” McMahon mentioned.
McMahon has his hands full with learning and building upon the new players and seeing where they may need to develop more before the season approaches.
“Our players have worked extremely hard. We have a group that’s been relentless since they got here. P.J. Carter has gained 15 pounds, Rashad King, I could go down the line of guys who have really put in the work and developed,” McMahon said.
With over a week to prepare, McMahon seems to be pretty confident going into his fourth year coaching the Tigers.
