Interim LSU Head Football Coach Frank Wilson spoke to the media after a much needed bye week ahead of their matchup against ranked Alabama.
LSU is simply a football team with nothing to lose heading into their matchup on Saturday, and Wilson feels confident about his team.
Wilson said, “I like us. I really do. I like our football team. We are a talented football team. I think we have the potential to be a good football team.”
While Wilson feels confident, he is still new to being the Head Coach of the Tigers, but he believes his team is progressing.
Wilson stated, “I think right now our team is improving. I think we’re a better team today than we were last week.”
Wilson has also been very vocal about establishing the run game. He said, “As a running back unit, when you run the ball less than 20 times, you make it challenging for yourself.”
And finally Wilson invited all former alumni to come back and watch LSU practice, and he stated, “You’ve earned the right to be part of what we’re doing.”
Wilson will be able to show what he’s got on Saturday as the Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa to face #4 Alabama at 6;30 p.m.
