The removal of three water fountains around campus has been brought to the attention of the community.
LSU says that these fountains are beyond repair and cannot be restored, and have been filled in with concrete where some used to be.
LSU removed a popular water fountain by The Chapel; however, the university does not have any land rights there, as the property of LSU ends close to that area.
This leaves runners and walkers around University Lake without a stop for water, as some do not bring water for their runs.
Some students still enjoy their walks, runs, and even sitting around the lake, consistent with the fountain being gone. Financial student Remi Moushleb spoke out, “It is very relaxing to just sit on the bench and watch the water.”
LSU’s most recent statement about this matter is that they are looking for a sponsor to replace these fountains.
