LSU’s student-run radio station, KLSU, is wrapping up its annual fundraising week, with time still left for listeners to show their support.
The station kicked off the week Sunday at Beauvoir Park with a launch event featuring live bands, food and local vendors.
Throughout the week, KLSU hosted specialty shows from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., highlighting a range of music from R&B to Irish Indie. Organizers say the fundraiser gives DJs a chance to experiment with new ideas and connect with listeners in different ways.
“People get to be really creative. We’ve never had an Irish indie show — that’s awesome,” said KLSU station manager Caitlin Russell. “It gives us a chance to try things that might appeal to the audience more than what we normally do.”
To support the fundraiser, go to klsufm.org to donate and receive KLSU merchandise. Listeners can tune in to 91.1 FM within a 40-mile radius of campus, or listen to KLSU worldwide via web streaming on their website.
