Tuesday night LSU Baseball hosted the LA Tech Bulldogs at the Alex Box Stadium at 6:30 PM.
Both Louisiana teams came ready to pitch strong and hit hard but LSU dominated on the field from the start of the match.
At the bottom of the first inning Outfielder John Pearson singled up the middle, driving in both Outfielder Jake Brown and Outfielder Chris Stanfield to home plate.
Not so long after those runs came in, at the bottom of the second inning Jake Brown singled to left field driving in both Infielder Trent Caraway and Infielder Steven Milam to score.
Zach Yorke also hit with intense strength adding a home run during the bottom of the fifth inning towards right center. This is now his fifth home run of the season. He had 32 home runs over the course of his three years at Grand Canyon.
For a while the LSU Tigers were far in the lead, causing the Bulldogs to step on the gas and come together to rack up more hits.
In the top of the eighth LA Tech’s Nathan Houston reached on a fielder’s choice allowing Colton Coate to score. Just after that Brecken Menuet singled between the left side where Matt Houston scored bringing the game to 8-5.
In response to the stress LSU kicked it in gear at the bottom of the eighth where Steven Milam, William Patrick, Jake Brown, Trent Caraway, Omar Serna Jr. all scored back to back.
The final score was 15-5 with the LSU Tigers (17-9) taking home the win.
