“Here comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail…” Well, you know the rest.
As many of you know, Easter—the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, or for some, a day to eat chocolate eggs—is upon us. No matter how you celebrate the holiday, here is a list of ways to celebrate in Baton Rouge.
Easter Egg Magnet Grab and Geaux
This time of year can be quite chaotic, so for those in a rush, head over to the East Baton Rouge Parish Library off Bluebonnet. This event allows kids to grab a bag with numerous goodies inside, including an Easter egg magnet craft to make at home. It will allow kids to have their Easter fix while giving parents a quick activity to do with their children during a potentially hectic week. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 1, while supplies last.
Hop Into Spring Easter Egg Hunt
While quite a few Easter egg hunts have already occurred, be sure to check out this one at the ASE Learning Academy. The event will, of course, feature an egg hunt for kids to search around the area for eggs, while also giving families photo opportunities and other fun surprises. The event will be held on Friday, April 3, from 12 to 3 p.m. Reserve a spot for the event on Eventbrite.
Pictures with the Easter Bunny
If families are unable to attend one of the aforementioned events with the Easter Bunny, they can simply visit the mall. The Easter Bunny will be available for photographs near the mall’s Pottery Barn. While walk-ins are welcome, it is recommended to make reservations to avoid wait times. Available times for reservations can be found on whereisbunny.com. Currently, the bunny is available from now until April 6.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Gather your friends and family and head over to California Pizza Kitchen on Easter Sunday. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., families can gather for a special breakfast and say hello to the Easter Bunny. Parents are more than welcome to take photos of their children with the Easter Bunny, so be sure your children wear something cute and put on a big smile for the camera.
Easter Brunch
For City Club members and their guests, enjoy a luxurious feast for the bunny-filled holiday. Guests will be able to enjoy a salad bar, a wide variety of seafood, prime rib with au jus and other food offerings. One can only imagine just how divine the course offerings are. Along with a lovely brunch, guests will also be visited by the Easter Bunny.
Easter Sunday Service in New Orleans
While some may not want to travel to New Orleans for this event, for anyone living in the area, this might be a great option. On Easter Sunday at Victory Church, families can enjoy a photo booth, and their children will have a chance to dye their own Easter eggs and meet some furry and scaly friends from a local petting zoo. Afterwards, kids have the opportunity to hunt for eggs around the area while their parents cheer them on.
Ultimately, these are just six simple ideas to enjoy with your family during this Easter holiday. Whether you decide to spend most of the day praying at church or watching your children run around trying to find eggs, I wish you a lovely Easter Sunday.
