A long-standing tradition is coming to life here at LSU as the Greek community prepares for its highly anticipated Songfest.
Songfest is an annual dance competition throughout Greek life where sororities and fraternities are paired randomly each year.
Held in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the contest has become a staple event for the Greek organizations on campus over the past 105 years.
Songfest started as a men’s singing competition, but it is now bringing together all chapters for a night of performance, connection, and memories.
Every year, there is a new theme for the teams to base their dances around. The theme for Songfest 2026 is “Disney Channel Original Greeks.”
Kappa Delta’s coach, Farrah Murchison, shares that weeks of practice go into the success of the performance and event.
“It’s really so impressive what these girls and guys can do, and I think it shows LSU culture in general cause the amount of people that go to the PMAC to watch it is really crazy,” Murchison said. “And it’s just a fun energy in there.”
Songfest will be held April 26, and tickets are available to everyone at lsusports.evenue.net
