While the LSU Tigers may be ranked number 10 this week in the Associated Press college football poll, Bob Asmussen of the Champaign News-Gazette in Illinois puts the Tigers at 20, joining a handful of midwestern, southwestern and northeastern voters who placed the Tigers in the bottom half of the top twenty-five.
Around the country, Ohio State, Baylor and Stanford have fascinating sentiment maps this week. Two — those of Ohio State and Baylor — mirror each other, while Stanford is a near inverse image.
This week marks a return to pulling data directly from the Associated Press web site. Interestingly, the AP has now removed votes cast for teams which don’t make the top-25. This means the Reveille can no longer provide the “expanded” ranking, but this may actually help simplify the tool.
