LSU will propose a three-year contract extension for Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva to the LSU Board of Supervisors on Friday, according to the board’s meeting agenda.
If approved, the proposed contract would not include a raise and keep Alleva under contract until June 2019.
Alleva is currently signed through June 2016 and makes a base salary of $525,000 with a supplement of $200,000 for efforts to enhance Athletic Department revenues with a possibility of $175,000 in incentives, according to a three-year extension and a $175,000 raise approved in 2011.
Alleva has served as LSU’s athletic director since 2008 after a 10-year stint as athletic director of Duke University. He is responsible for overseeing the recent expansion of Tiger Stadium, which debuted Saturday. LSU has also recently begun projects on new gymnastics and tennis facilities.
Extensions to the contracts of two coaches hired by Alleva, LSU women’s basketball coach Nikki Caldwell and LSU softball coach Beth Torina, will also be considered in Friday’s meeting.
LSU will propose a three-year extension to Caldwell’s contract with no raise, keeping her salary at $350,000 and a one-year extension to Torina’s contract in addition to a $35,000 raise that would increase her salary to $135,000.
