Week 10’s games will be some of this season’s best and most entertaining matchups.
The majority of the SEC West is playing teams equivalent to their own strength, meaning that some of these games could be a battle until the very last second.
Here are this week’s games to watch:
LSU vs. Alabama
The game that most LSU and Alabama fans look forward to has finally arrived. The Tigers will travel to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to face the Tide in their infamous rival game.
After a 32-31 win from the Tigers in 2022, many believe that this year’s game will be equally as intense.
Alabama is ranked No. 8 in the CFP rankings, with LSU trailing at No. 14.
With Alabama ranked No. 1 in the SEC West and on a six-game win streak, the Tide are projected to take the game by a field goal, but it wouldn’t be unusual for the Tigers to prove the projected score wrong.
In 2022, Alabama was favored to win by 13.5 points before LSU pulled an upset in an overtime period.
However, since last season, LSU’s offense has grown. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is leading the SEC in passing yards with 2,573. Alabama’s quarterback, Jalen Milroe, trails Daniels with 1,617 passing yards.
With Zy Alexander and Mekhi Wingo out, LSU’s offense will have to continue producing big numbers to make up for the inexperienced defense.
Alabama’s defense holds more power, especially with outside linebacker Dallas Turner. Turner leads the SEC in sacks and has the ability to consistently put pressure on quarterbacks.
With both teams coming off of a bye week, most players should be healthy and rested.
The game is expected to be a close one, and many think it will, once again, come down to the final seconds.
The game can be streamed on CBS at 6:45 p.m. CT.
Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M
Texas A&M will travel to Oxford, Mississippi to play the Rebels on Saturday.
Ole Miss remains ranked No. 2 in the SEC and was ranked No. 10 in the CFP rankings after its win against Vanderbilt. The Rebels are now on a four-game win streak, and are looking to keep the ball rolling.
In their game against Vanderbilt, quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for 240 yards, completing almost 68% of his passes.
Ole Miss’ defense also held Vanderbilt quarterback Walter Taylor to 38 yards with one interception.
Texas A&M also had a successful weekend on the field in its game against South Carolina, winning 30-17.
The Aggies are looking to upset Ole Miss on the road, as the Rebels are only favored to win by three points.
Quarterback Max Johnson continues to be a star player, throwing 249 yards with one touchdown. Accompanied by star receivers Evan Stewart and Ainias Smith, Texas A&M’s offense is capable of competing with Ole Miss’.
The game can be streamed on ESPN at 11 a.m. CT.
Auburn at Vanderbilt
After winning its first conference game of the season, Auburn will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to play Vanderbilt.
In their previous game against Mississippi State, the Tigers beat the Bulldogs by two touchdowns, improving their overall record to 4-4.
Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne found his rhythm against the Bulldogs, throwing 230 yards and completing three touchdown passes to Ja’Varrius Johnson, Shane Hooks and Jeremiah Cobb.
Running back Jarquez Hunter also proved to be an asset to the Tiger’s offense, gaining 144 rushing yards on 17 carries.
Auburn’s defense only allowed Mike Wright to complete 16 of his 32 passes, limiting him to one touchdown pass.
Vanderbilt’s weekend, on the other hand, was not as successful as Auburn’s.
Ole Miss beat the Commodores 33-7, increasing Vanderbilt’s losing streak to seven.
Auburn is projected to take the game by 11 points, securing its second conference win of the season.
The game can be streamed on SEC Network at 3 p.m. CT.
Mississippi State vs. Kentucky
Mississippi State will host Kentucky in Starkville on Saturday.
The Wildcats are expected to upset Mississippi State on the road by a field goal, but the game could go either way.
Mississippi State has only won one game against an SEC opponent, with an overall record of 4-4.
Kentucky’s record is only slightly better, going 2-3 in conference play and 5-3 overall.
Both teams are amidst losing streaks and looking to change their projection in their final games of the season.
Although Kentucky scores an average of five points more per game than Mississippi State, the playing field should be relatively equal.
The game can be streamed on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Arkansas at Florida
Arkansas will travel to Florida to play the Gators on Saturday.
The Razorbacks are riding a six-game losing streak, going 0-5 in conference play with only two wins on the season.
Since Arkansas has managed to keep many of its losses within a touchdown, Florida is only favored to win by a field goal.
Florida is coming off of a 43-20 loss to Georgia.
Even though the score didn’t fall in Florida’s favor, the Gator’s had some stand-out players, specifically quarterback Graham Mertz.
Mertz threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns, completing 25 of 34 passes.
The Razorbacks have an opportunity to get rid of their long-lasting loss streak and win their first conference and away game.
The game can be streamed on ESPN at 11 a.m. CT.
