LSU sophomore forward Jordan Mickey is tired of hearing the chatter, and he did something about it Tuesday.
With rumors swirling that Mickey was leaning toward entering the NBA Draft, the Dallas native released a statement clarifying he has not yet made up his mind.
The statement reads as follows:
“With speculation that I may leave LSU for the NBA, or that I have already decided, that is not true. I have not made a decision one way or the other at this time. But with the help of my family and Coach [Johnny] Jones I do plan to explore my options regarding my future plans.
“The deadline to make a final decision is still a month away – I am still enrolled in school — and I will use that time to decide.”
The deadline for players to submit their names in the NBA Draft is April 26. The NBA Draft begins June 25.
Mickey was a First-Team All-Southeastern Conference selection this season after he averaged 15.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He also led the nation in blocks with 3.6 rejections per game, and he finished with at least 100 blocks for the second consecutive year.
