The Senate unanimously passed a legislation bill to help human trafficking victims.
The bill passed 99-0 on Wednesday afternoon; Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was the only senator who didn’t vote.
The bill would increased resources for law enforcement to catch sex trafficking criminals, and created a fund to help victims.
The bill was delayed for weeks due to the partisan debate over abortion, which was resolved earlier this week. The dispute also delayed a confirmation vote on Loretta Lynch as attorney general. President Barack Obama nominated Lynch for the position.
