The first edition of the LSU football team’s depth chart in advance of its opener against McNeese State featured a predictable “OR” next to the Tigers’ top two quarterback options.
Neither sophomore Brandon Harris nor junior Anthony Jennings claimed the top spot on the depth chart as coach Les Miles continues to let the quarterback battle play out. Last week, Miles said Harris was the leader and had not lost his position as the leader since fall camp began.
In the past, Miles has insinuated he may not publicly announce a starter prior to the game, but his team may know beforehand.
Other positions with the “OR” notation next two the top options were at left guard, where redshirt freshman William Clapp and freshman Maea Teuhema are battling. At right guard, Clapp and junior Josh Boutte are listed as top-two options.
At the cornerback spot opposite of third-year starter junior Tre’Davious White, junior Dwayne Thomas and freshman Kevin Tolliver II are the two leaders. Sophomore Ed Paris is listed beneath Thomas and Tolliver II.
Also in the secondary, junior Rickey Jefferson has firmly slid into the starting role at free safety in place of injured senior safety Jalen Mills.
