The LSU Tigers defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 61-53 Wednesday night in the PMAC winning their fourth straight conference game, bringing the team’s overall record to 17-10 and 7-6 in the SEC.
LSU guard Andre Stringer led all scorers 18 points while Justin Hamilton led the Tigers with 9 rebounds to go with 7 points. Although the Tigers managed to hang onto the lead, they struggled at the free throw line throughout, making just 18 out of their 30 FT attempts (60%).
Coach Trent Johnson explained what he feels will help the team in the future.
He said, “One of the things we talked about is getting off to a better start. We can’t afford to play early.”
LSU is currently tied with Tennessee (7-6, 15-13 overall) for 4th place in the SEC, with Alabama (6-6, 17-9 overall) just a half game behind. The top 4 teams get a first round bye in the SEC Tournament.
LSU’s next game is at Ole Miss on Saturday, February 25th. Tip-off is at 12:45 CST.
