Man arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia
A 21-year-old man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Dec. 16 at 3:16 a.m. for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The man was identified as Joey M. Dupuis of 117 Shady Oak Drive in Pierre Part.
Dupuis was seen speeding on Nicholson Road, said Capt. Cory Lalonde, LSU Police Department spokesperson. He said after conducting a routine traffic stop, officers found a glass smoking pipe and three grams of marijuana in the vehicle.
Dupuis was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.
Man arrested for disturbing the peace and remaining after being forbidden
A 54-year-old Baton Rouge man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Dec. 16 at 4:39 p.m. after resisting an officer, remaining after being forbidden and disturbing the peace.
Officers were dispatched to Fieldhouse Drive and North Stadium Drive in reference to a suspicious male following a female through the parking lot, Lalonde said. When they arrived, officers found Andrew C. Hines of 5062 Alvin Dark Road in Baton Rouge.
Hines used profanity when speaking with officers and could not give a reason as to why he was on campus, Lalonde said.
Officers told Hines to leave campus. Hines became angry and used profanities again. He was then arrested.
Hines was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
Woman arrested for felony theft
LSUPD officers arrested a 24-year-old woman on Dec. 22 in connection to a theft reported on Dec. 12, in which a student’s purse, cell phone and identification were stolen from a bus during a sorority function.
Officers recovered the victim’s phone on Dec. 22 and identified as a suspect Michelle Antrenette McMillon of 1426 Del Plaza., whose aunt drove the bus where the items were stolen, Lalonde said. McMillion admitted to stealing the phone and selling it, but she denied taking the victim’s identification.
McMillon was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
Two individuals arrested after entering Tiger Stadium unauthorized
Two people were arrested Dec. 20 after entering into Tiger Stadium without authorization.
Jonathon M. Whittle, a 21-year-old unaffiliated with the University from Zachary, and Giovanna J. Hano, a 21-year-old University student from Gonzales, were seen jumping the fence to get into Tiger Stadium at 1:36 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers entered the stadium and saw the pair near the field, Lalonde said. He said both of them appeared to be intoxicated.
Whittle and Hano were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
Three individuals arrested after stealing Phi Gamma Delta Greek letters
Three men were arrested just after 3 a.m. for felony theft and criminal damage to property after stealing the Greek letters off of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house on Dec. 24.
The men were identified as Daniel Gilmer, a 17-year-old Baton Rouge resident not affiliated with the University, Matthew Kilpatrick, an 18-year-old Baton Rouge resident and University student, and Connor Miller, a 19-year-old University student of Baton Rouge.
LSUPD responded at 2:45 a.m. after members of Phi Gamma Delta reported several men trying to steal the Greek letters from the building, Lalonde said. The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.
Later, officers came into contact with Gilmer, who admitted to the theft. Officers later found Kilpatrick and Miller. All three of them were charged and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
Woman arrested for aggravated battery at fraternity party
A 21-year-old woman unaffiliated with the University was arrested Jan. 5 for an incident of aggravated battery which took place Oct. 30 at the Kappa Alpha fraternity house.
LSUPD officers spoke to a victim at the house in October who had visible injuries on her face and had suffered a concussion, Lalonde said.
Officers investigated the incident and found a suspect, Kathryn Niel Cardone of 3917 Saint Philippe Drive in Lake Charles. Cardone confirmed there had been an altercation at the fraternity house but denied she intentionally meant to hurt the victim.
Cardone was arrested Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
Baton Rouge man arrested for remaining after being forbidden
Officers arrested Michael J. Breslin of 115 West Claborne St. in Saint Martinville on Jan. 6 for being on campus after being banned from the University.
Lalonde said officers came into contact after they received a call about a suspicious person on the west side of the PMAC. Lalonde said they found Beslin asleep near the bushes.
After identifying him, officers realized Beslin was previously banned from campus.
Beslin was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons.
