THREE STUDENTS ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSIONThree University students were arrested Wednesday at about 3 p.m. in Jackson Hall for drug possession.Brian J. Kustra, 18, of 123 Maple Wood Drive, Slidell, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, simple possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule IV narcotics for having valium pills.Matthew J. Locke, 19, of 3344 Castle Drive, Kenner; and Matthew W. Smith, 18, of 201 Normandy Drive, Slidell, were both charged with simple possession of marijuana.LSU Police Department spokesman Capt. Russell Rogé said officers went to Jackson Hall after a resident called in about marijuana being smoked in one of the rooms.Officers questioned the three suspects and found a bong, 1.5 grams of marijuana and valium pills.Locke and Smith were issued a misdemeanor summons and released. Kustra was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.MAN ARRESTED FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSIONA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Wednesday at about 5 a.m. for having a marijuana cigarette on the LSU Golf Course.David P. Gross II, 29, of 3718 Cannon St., Baton Rouge, was charge with simple possession of marijuana.Rogé said officers responded to a call about a suspicious person sitting inside a car in front of the LSU Golf Course.The golf course was closed, the gates were locked and Gross was blocking the driveway with his car, Rogé said.After smelling marijuana in Gross’ car, officers searched the car and found a marijuana cigarette.Rogé said a background check found Gross to have been arrested for marijuana two other times.Gross was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.MAN ARRESTED FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSIONA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Saturday at about 11 a.m. for having marijuana.Dusty S. Garrett, 22, of 13465 Briar Hollow Ave., Baton Rouge, was charged with simple possession of marijuana.Rogé said after officers stopped Garrett for a traffic violation, they smelled marijuana coming from his car.Garrett gave the officers permission to search the car where they found marijuana.Rogé said officers also found two supplements of Test’in, pills that cover up tests for controlled dangerous substances, and a plastic bottle of urine. Rogé said Garrett claimed he intended to use the urine to adversely affect a drug test.The pills and the urine were taken in for evidence, Rogé said.The case is still under investigation because Garrett is currently on probation, Rogé said.Garrett was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.—-Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
