NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Prosecutors have refused to pursue criminal charges against seven Tulane University fraternity members accused of burning pledges with boiling water and pepper spray during an initiation ritual. Tuesday’s announcement by the Orleans Parish district attorney’s office leaves three other fraternity members still facing felony battery charges, although their cases could be resolved the same way in court Wednesday. Ten members of the Pi Kappa Alpha were booked in May on charges of aggravated second-degree battery.—-Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
