GEISMAR (AP) — Ground has been broken on an Ascension Parish plant that will convert animal fats into diesel and jet fuels. Dynamic Fuels LLC, a joint venture between Tyson Foods and Syntroleum Corporation LLC, will operate the $138 million facility. The alternative fuel plant differs from ethanol and biodiesel plants, which use ingredients like corn and soybeans, to produce fuel. The Dynamic Fuels plant will use animal fats from Tyson Foods — like beef tallow, pork lard, chicken fat and greases — to create fuel.—- Contact The Daily Reveille’s News Staff at [email protected]
