Chancellor Sean O’Keefe’s $1 million gift agreement with theUniversity that O’Keefe has expressed his intent to honor will not come from his own pockets but instead from corporate funding not available until after O’Keefe’s death, according to documents obtained by The Daily Reveille.
O’Keefe has served on the E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company Board of Directors since 2005, and the gift agreement was made though DuPont’s Directors Charitable Gift Program.
“The donation will be made by DuPont in the Director’s name, in five equal annual installments, with the first installment to be made as soon as is practicable after the Director’s death,” according to DuPont’s Director’s charitable Gift Plan summary for recommended organization.
