Student Government President-elect Chris Odinet and Vice President-elect Christen Heaton are accepting applications for their executive staff positions.
In comparison to current SG President Michelle Gieg’s 31-member executive staff, Odinet’s staff will be smaller with 25 positions. Odinet said consolidating the staff will lead to greater efficiency and effort.
“We have consolidated a lot of positions,” Odinet said. “There will be less people, so we will expect more of them.”
Odinet said he is searching for a passionate and responsible staff to help implement his campaign platform goals, including academic degree flow chart implementation, North Gate development and athletic ticket changes.
Although Odinet said he encourages students with SG experience to apply, Odinet said those new to SG will be given a fair chance.
“Everyone will be on an equal playing field,” Odinet said.
In addition to executive staff positions, applications are also available for executive appointments. These appointments include University Court, Trial Court and media board positions.
Applications, along with a completed personality assessment, are due Monday, April 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Student Government office in the Union. Applicants must then schedule an interview with Odinet and Heaton. Odinet said he anticipates all positions will be decided by his April 7 inauguration.
