The Southeastern Conference ruled Monday that two controversial pass-interference calls in the fourth quarter of the LSU-Auburn game were handled correctly on the field.
The most notable play involved a pass-interference penalty flag being picked up on LSU’s second-to-last drive of the game.
“Basically, the call of removing the flag would be correct because the ball was uncatchable after the defender tipped it,” SEC media relations director Charles Bloom told the Associated Press.
Bloom also said the pass interference call against defensive back Daniel Francis in the fourth quarter was a correct call because the pass was ruled catchable.
After the game on Saturday Tigers coach Les Miles said at the press confrence that he wanted a clear explanation of why the penalty was recalled. Check back at lsureveille.com for updated information on the decision.
