Shots were fired outside the Brewery on Hillsborough Street Saturday between 1:20 a.m. and 1:45 a.m.
An altercation took place in the parking lot between a group of seven or eight males who walked outside the Brewery. It lasted approximately five minutes, Tom Taylor, Brewery owner, said.
Eyewitnesses from Farmhouse and the Brewery saw the fight take place.
According to Will Quick, a graduate student in business administration, he witnessed the fight while he and some friends were on the Farmhouse porch.
“We saw a fight break out when the concert at the Brewery let out,” he said.
Quick said a group of males began beating one male for about three to four minutes.
After the fight stopped, two men of the group pulled out guns from their cars and one gun was fired, according to Taylor.
He said about eight shots were fired.
Quick said the shots were fired in two rounds, and after the first round, everybody who was outside quickly hurried inside, but the second round of shots could be heard from inside.
“[One] guy got shot through the hand,” Ryan Joyce, a junior in business management and eyewitness outside of Farmhouse, said.
The Raleigh Police Department said that two people were injured from the fight, according to an e-mail from Campus Police’s Lt. Larry Ellis.
Quick said by the time the police arrived on the scene, all those involved in the fight had gotten in their cars and pulled away, including the victim who was shot.
According to Sgt. Rick Haufman of the Raleigh Police Department, police have not yet arrested any suspects, and those involved in the shooting are not affiliated with the University.
