LSU coach Les Miles announced Saturday that offensive line coach Stacy Searels has resigned to take an identical position at the University of Georgia.
Searels has been the Tigers’ offensive line coach since the 2003 season. Before joining LSU’s staff, Searels served as offensive line coach at the University of Cincinnati from 2001-2002 and at Appalachian State University from 1994-2000. Searels and offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher were the only holdovers from the Nick Saban era to join Miles’ staff when Miles took over as head coach in January 2005. Searels said in a news release he is “tremendously excited” about working for Georgia head coach Mark Richt and his staff. “I’m looking forward to being part of the Georgia football program that has such great tradition and one that I know has a great future,” Searels said.
