(AP) — Control of the New Orleans public hospital should be stripped from LSU and handed to a newly created board not affiliated with the university, a House committee agreed Wednesday. The House Health and Welfare Committee approved the bill without objection, sending it to the full House for debate, despite arguments from LSU System President John Lombardi that it could harm plans to build a new $1.2 billion replacement teaching hospitalin the city.
