A recent report released by the Democratic Leadership Council asserts that some of the future “hot jobs” will only require employees to have associate’s degrees.
Although bachelor degrees will still be in demand, some of the fastest growing jobs in health care, education, clean energy and information technology may only require education in a two-year program. While providing students with a number of 4-year degrees, the University does not offer associate programs.
The report defines a “hot job” as a job paying above average wage — above the 2006 median wage of $32,000 — and having above average growth, which is more than 10 percent.
