The pitching duo of Alex Lange and Jared Poche’ will continue for one more year.
Junior Alex Lange was in Japan, when he heard the news of Poche’ returning.
“When I saw the news, I just started smiling and laughing,” Lange said. “I’m so pumped. That’s one of my best friends.”
“Having him back is a lot of fun, on and off the field. It’s not just playing with him but getting to hang out with him and trying to understand what he’s talking about sometimes. It’s something I’ll cherish forever,” Lange said.
The two have know each other since they were 15 years old and Lange believes Poche’ is an incredible talent.
“We’re probably two of the closest pitchers in the country. We’ve pitched behind each other now for three years. Back in high school, we did the same thing,” said Lange.
On opening night, Alex Lange will start against Air Force. Poche’ will start on Saturday against Army.
Last year, Poche’s record was 9-4 with a 3.35 era. Lange’s was 8-4 with a 3.79 era.
