Response to “Red Terror” letter

In response to the letter “‘Red Terror’ inappropriate name for N.C. State buses,” really? Appalled? You seem rather strung out over decisions by sportswriters to call our basketball team the Red Terrors back in 1925. The name on the buses is a homage to that nickname, not an overt slight to the dead of Russia. Writers derived the name from newly hired basketball coach Gus Tebell’s unveiling of red silk uniforms, in combination with captain Rochelle “Red” Johnson’s red hair. For a History major, you show an “appalling” lack of knowledge of your own University’s history.
