Freshmen Ma’Khail Hilliard received a standing ovation after starting the game against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and pitching almost six full innings without a score before being replaced by Cam Sanders.
The Tigers defeated the Rainbow Warriors 14-1 to win the series.
