While most LSU students are counting down the days until spring break, freshman Malcolm Dunn from St. Charles Parish has bigger plans to run for a seat on the Baton Rouge Metro Council.
“I believe someone from LSU deserves to represent district 12,” Dunn said.
If elected, Dunn said he hopes to work toward marijuana legalization, saying that he believes this could be the fix for Louisiana’s revenue crisis.
“I believe it will bring a lot of revenue,” Dunn said. “In a time when we’re low on money, I believe LSU needs revenue from weed.”
As Dunn’s campaign begins, he makes it clear that he is all about LSU and believes he has a shot to win.
“I’m not nervous because if LSU students get involved, I will win,” Dunn said.
