LSU junior wide receiver Trey Quinn announced he would be transferring from the university on Tuesday through a post on Twitter.

Quinn played in all 12 games for LSU in the 2015-16 season, and started only two of the 12.
Quinn, a Barbe, Louisiana native, was LSU’s seventh-best receiver last season, statistically, as he caught five passes for 83 yards.
Through 25 careers games donning purple and gold, Quinn brought in 22 passes for 276 yards through two seasons. Also, Quinn reeled in two rushing attempts for 11 total yards throughout his LSU tenure.
In 2015, Quinn was a rarely-used asset for the Tigers as LSU has welcomed a batch of promising freshman along with 2016’s recruiting class — boasting three highly-touted wide receivers of its own. With the recruits, LSU also hired former Auburn wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig just two days ago.
LSU is set to introduce Craig — along with new running backs coach Jabbar Juluke — on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Also, LSU confirmed the granted release for redshirt sophomore receiver Kevin Spears on Tuesday, according to the Advocate.
Spears saw the field three times as a freshman Tiger in 2014-15, but did not receive any passes.
Quinn and Spears join former LSU receiver John Diarse as transferring wideouts in the 2016 offseason.
LSU players in response to Quinn’s announcement:
One of the best receivers and even better person. Sad to see you leave but can’t wait to see what the future holds. BALL OUT !! @treyquinn8
