“Lemonade” encompasses an abundance of New Orleans culture with references to Dooky Chase’s restaurant and swamp scenery. The “Formation” music video was filmed in New Orleans and shows New Orleans Police Department squad cars.
Celebrity disc jockey and Snapchat phenomenon DJ Khaled will disc jockey for the world tour. Aside from Khaled, Beyoncé brought out several other celebrities on her tour, including Lil Wayne, Two Chainz and Snoop Dogg, among others.
At her stop in Houston, Beyoncé opened with tour’s namesake song, “Formation.” She also paid homage to the late Prince by turning all of the stage lights purple and playing “Purple Rain.”
She also sang most of the tracks on “Lemonade.”
