After touring with Girls Gone Wild, it seems things could only go downhill for four-man rock band Revelation Theory. But things are only improving for the group. The band’s newly released, first full-length album has a single on MTV2 and MTV.com, and it is on a nationwide tour, getting attention from bands like Seether.
The band will bring its album-promotion tour to Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Clicks Billiards.
The group’s album, “Truth Is Currency,” was released Sept. 27, said Dave Agoglia, the band’s drummer.
“Making an album is a dream come true,” Agoglia said. “Everything came together well.”
Agoglia said Grammy winner Paul Ebersold, who has worked with Saliva, 3 Doors Down and Third Day, produced the album.
He said Ebersold helped the group finish the album in one month.
“Slowburn,” the album’s first single, keeps gaining radio power, said Rich Luzzi, the group’s lead singer.
“It’s currently number 40 on [Radio and Record’s] Active Rock Chart and is playing at 32 of the 55 active rock stations across the country,” Luzzi said.
The video for the single plays on MTV2 and MTV.com’s Headbangers Ball, a hard rock and metal program.
“It was probably the hardest thing we’ve ever done,” Luzzi said of making the music video.
He said the band is quickly getting bigger because of the album.
Luzzi said he began to realize the extent of the album’s success when Shawn Morgan of Seether told him he listened to the group’s album regularly.
“We’re on an independent label but we’re creating a buzz,” Luzzi said.
Part of that buzz is due to the group’s success on the 2005 Girls Gone Wild Tour. That tour gave the band the opportunity to travel to 30 cities and play in front of thousands of people, Luzzi said.
“It was a way for us to reach out to markets we wouldn’t have been able to otherwise,” Luzzi said. “They’re a great organization, and it’s run very well.”
Agoglia said Baton Rouge is a big fan base for the band.
“We played there a year ago and met some really nice people,” Agoglia said. “We’re slowly building more friends and fans there.”
Luzzi said the group’s shows are high-energy and always enjoyable.
“We want to entertain you,” Luzzi said. “You can know it will be 45 minutes of fun.”
