A white Honda Civic carrying five students crashed around 5 p.m. Sunday into the front steps of the Student Health Center on Infirmary Road.
Vijay Maka, a mechanical engineering graduate student, said he was riding in the front passenger seat of the car at the time of the accident. He said the driver — who recently learned to drive — lost control.
The driver and front passenger seat airbags inflated.
Maka did not tell The Daily Reveille the names of the other passengers, but said four of them are University graduate students and the other was a student visiting from New Orleans.
A passenger in the back seat went to the hospital, but Maka said he did not know how severe the passenger’s injuries were.
LSUPD officers on the scene refused to comment.
