LSUPD arrested one person in the past two weeks.
Lt. Sherman Dickerson said on June 12 officers observed a car traveling southbound on Nicholson Drive at a high speed.
Officers identified the driver as Royal Patterson, 33, 7160 Jewel Drive, Baton Rouge.
During the traffic stop, officers allegedly noticed a small bag of marijuana in plain view. Upon further inspection, officers discovered a weapon under the front driver’s side seat.
Patterson was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, illegal carrying of a firearm while in possession of a narcotic and speeding. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
