LSU Women’s Basketball pulled out a close win against the Oklahoma Sooners on Thursday night in the PMAC.
The top 15 matchup was thought to be a good one, and that’s understating it. The sooners came out ready to play in the first half being physical and aggressive which sprouted into a scuffle.
LSUs Sa’Mya Smith and OUs Liz Scott were both ejected from the game.
While the Tigers held an over 20 point lead at one point in the game, the fourth quarter came down to the wire.
The Tigers would eventually pull out the win led by Guard Mikayla Williams who grabbed 37 points and showcased her star power all four quarters.
“It was a special night for a special player.” said Oklahoma Coach Jennie Baranczyk.
From the game came record breaking results. The matchup brought in the most points scored in a SEC game in program history, topping LSUs 106 point record against Florida just last year. With much more SEC play to come, the team will look to keep shots falling.
The Tigers are back in the PMAC February 2nd to kick off a new month of basketball as they take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
