LSU Men’s Basketball fought hard against Ole Miss, with a scoring advantage for most of the game. Ultimately, a buzzer-beater from Ole Miss means the Tigers will continue their losing streak.
Both teams defended well from the jump, as the first points weren’t scored until three minutes into the half by LSU’s Cam Carter. Sean Pedulla quickly responded with a layup for Ole Miss.
The Tigers heavily relied on Daimion Collins and Cam Carter for their offensive success this game, as they both dominated the scoreboard with 15 and 16 points, respectively.
LSU’s aggressiveness and tenacity were no match for the Rebels; however, the Tigers put Ole Miss on the free-throw line just enough to keep them in the game. The Rebels shot 69% from the free-throw line compared to LSU’s 48%– one of their lowest performances.
LSU’s Corey Chest had 12 rebounds, the leading number for the entire game, and Ole Miss’ Dre Davis was unstoppable with the game’s leading score of 22 points.
With 45 seconds left in the second half, Mississippi’s Jaemyn Brakefield tied the game 70-70 with a three-pointer. After an offensive turnover by Carter, Mississippi’s Dre Davis tipped in a buzzer-beater lay-up giving Ole Miss the dub.
The Tigers (1-9) will hit the road for a quick turn-around against Arkansas (3-7).
