LSU Baseball Players, Kade Anderson and Derek Curiel speak to the media after beating Arkansas in Game 4 of the College World Series.
Ace pitcher Kade Anderson was relentless on Saturday. He threw 10 strikes and only allowed one run. Curiel gave his opinion on Anderson’s performance.
“I’m super happy for him. He’s been great. He just does what he does. It’s just business as usual. So I’m just super happy for him. He competes his butt off and I’m proud of him,” Curiel said.
Anderson spoke about the mindset he had during the game, and he credited Head Coach Jay Johnson for treating every game like it is the playoffs.
“LSU is used to being in Omaha and that’s something that we do often. We’re proud to say that. But we’re meant for these kind of games, and we’re excited to keep going,” Anderson said.
On the offensive side, Curiel was not afraid to admit he had some tough at bats. He said he is not going to let it shake his confidence. He has just got to stick to what he knows.
“So I’m never defeated in the box, even when I go down 0-2 on two pretty ugly swings, probably my two ugliest swings of the year,” Curiel said.
The Fighting Tigers will proceed in the winner’s bracket and play again Monday at 6 P.M where they will face the UCLA Bruins.
