LSU Baseball practiced at the University of Nebraska Omaha for the second time on Sunday before their next game against UCLA on Monday.
After the practice, LSU Baseball Head Coach Jay Johnson talked to the media about the game coming up. Their mindset and gameplan will remain the same.
“Can’t write an article about it, but it’s all about execution,” Johnson said.
California native Anthony Eyanson is expected to start on the mound against UCLA. He is not familiar with most of the team, but a lot of his coaches from back home are big UCLA fans. Johnson was asked if that would affect Eyanson emotionally.
“Knowing the player I’m not overly worried about that,’ said Johnson, ‘ you’re talking about a guy who knows how to reel it in really fast.”
Johnson also talked about how being in the winner’s bracket gives the team and staff a day off from playing.
“I want them to relax today,” Johnson said.
The coaches might work on some strategies on Sunday, but he wants the players to take the day off.
