LSU Football Head Coach Brian Kelly addressed the media after the Labor Day weekend victory against the then No.4 ranked Clemson Tigers.
After crushing the 5 year season opener losing streaks, the teams main focus going into week 2 is to maintain the 1-0 mindset, and treat Louisiana Tech just as they would an SEC opponent.
“We’ve got to replicate and maintain all the things we did to get 1-0.”
“The 1-0 wasn’t targeted, rubbing it in Clemson’s nose, this was our mantra for the year. We just want to focus one week at a time.”
Coach Kelly also stated the experience of playing on a Saturday night Death Valley is a first for many on the roster and the team and staff plan to soak it all in. The team welcomes the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at home in Death valley week two.
“Everybody associated with the program coming back to Tiger Stadium is pretty exciting.” Kelly stated.
“We’ve got a lot of guys, I think like 45 guys that will be walking down Victory Hill for the first time,” said Kelly.
Ahead of facing Louisiana Tech, the Tigers plan to maintain focus and work to “Avoid the noise, stay locked in, and do the things we’ve been doing, then we can get to 1-0 each week.” as said by Brian Kelly.
