LSU Football takes on the Florida Gators on Sept. 13 and the Tigers are preparing to matchup against Florida quarterback DJ Lagway. On the other hand the LSU Dairy Store is preparing new flavors of ice cream for LSU’s opponents.
Since last football season, the Dairy Store has rolled out new flavors corresponding with LSU’s opponents. This week is a new flavor called “Later Gator”. It’s an orange based ice cream with chocolate chips.
The Dairy Store takes into account the team’s colors and mascot when they come up with the flavor and name of the ice cream.
Although it’s the Florida Gators, there is no gator in this ice cream.
Just like Florida and LSU’s rich history, LSU’s Dairy Store has a rich history as well. Florida and LSU Football faced off for the first time in 1937; the Dairy Store has been churning ice cream since 1918.
