Multiple players from the LSU roster spoke to the media after their win against the Southeastern Lions.
With a great performance from LSU’s offense in Saturday’s game, starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier relished in the results.
“Just excited about the way we are working at,” Nussmeier said.
The Lake Charles native was 25/31 on the night with 273 passing yards and three touchdowns. Saturday was the best game Nussmeier has had statistically so far this season.
“I think that tonight was a big night for us to build the chemistry and having fun playing football,” Nussmeier stated.
When asked about the offense as a whole, sophomore running back Ju’Juan Johnson seemed to be very pleased with where the team is heading after their fourth matchup of the season.
“I think that as an offense we are very versatile, we have a lot of players that can do a lot of things on the football field,” Johnson said.
Sophomore linebacker Davhon Keys had three total tackles that really helped on the defensive end during the game.
“Davhon’s a beast, everybody saw that dude and how we can fly around and hit anybody. It’s so much fun being out there with him,” Linebacker Whit Weeks said.
LSU showed long strides of growth after their matchup with Southeastern, putting them in a healthy position ahead of their next matchup against Ole Miss.
