A new Halloween attraction on Bocage Boulevard is bringing a “bone-chilling” twist to Baton Rouge, mixing spooky spirit with pop culture. It’s not Hollywood Boulevard, it’s the Skelebrity Graveyard.
Inspired by New Orleans’ famous “Skeleton House” which draws hundreds of visitors each year, creator Rebecca Harrod launched her own version on October 1st and it quickly became a local hit.
“I didn’t realize it was going to be big. I thought it would be a neighborhood thing, and I thought my neighbors might make fun of me and then it became a Baton Rouge thing,” Harrod said.
Each “skelebrity” features unique details, from the makeup of The Real Housewives cast to the nails and bags of TikTok sensations Pookie and Jet.
There’s even a Louisiana-themed section honoring well-known figures like Queen of Sparkles, Gordon McKernan, Todd Graves, Kim Mulkey, and Shaquille O’Neal.
As for whether the Skelebrity Graveyard will return next year, Harrod says it depends on the community’s excitement and it seems to be bringing a lot of joy to the community.
“I’ll do it because I don’t like to let people down…I’m a people pleaser. So if the people like it, I’ll do it,” she said.
