LSU Alum and Renowned chef Jay Ducote is a prime example of Louisiana cooking- bringing Cajun flavor to every dish he makes. Ducote is recognized for his on-screen presence and the fantastic food he brings to LSU tailgates. He jumps at the opportunity to cater for LSU tailgates whenever he can and is often hired by companies such as Emergent Methods to impress clients.
Ducote started cooking at LSU tailgates while a student there and has fallen in love with cooking ever since. After starting out as a broadcast journalism major and graduating with a degree in political science, Ducote was uncertain about his future.
“The reason why our tailgates are so good in addition to how much we drink..it’s the food on campus, the huge cast iron pots of jambalaya and gumbo and red beans and rice, the outdoor deep fryers cooking up Louisiana shrimp or catfish or anything else that you can imagine,” Chef Jay Ducote said.
From cooking for Gordon Ramsey on Master Chef to beating Bobby Flay, Ducote’s path shows his commitment to doing what he loves.
Still, after all of his national achievements, Ducote chooses to return to his roots, cooking for LSU fans.
