UPDATE: LSU has selected its three finalists: Robert Robbins, James Dalton and Wade Rousse. Robbins will be assigned the meeting schedule on Thursday, Dalton on Friday and Rousse on Monday.
Students, faculty and staff will each have their shot at meeting and speaking with the three finalists for LSU president once they’re selected.
After the candidates for the next LSU president are narrowed down to three Wednesday, the finalists will each participate in a day-long series of forums and stakeholder meetings, according to a schedule released by LSU.
Each finalist will spend a separate day on LSU campus meeting with groups representing different community stakeholders, Board of Supervisors Chair Scott Ballard told the Reveille.
Those days will be Oct. 30, Oct. 31 and Nov. 3.
The schedule will include the finalists meeting privately with student leaders, campus leadership and athletics administrators.
The finalists will also engage in separate forums with staff, faculty and students, as well as a research and healthcare forum at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Each forum is open to the public.
There are currently four candidates that formally applied for the position and will interview. The top three finalists will be recommended to the Board of Supervisors after the presidential search committee interviews the candidates Wednesday. The finalists will then be assigned either Thursday, Friday or Monday to follow the finalist schedule.
After that, the Board of Supervisors will call a special session to vote on the next president.
